Students projects

The students from Master of Arts in Art Education Curating & Museum Education of ZHdK (Zürcher Hochschule der Künste) have developed two special projects for the Education programme of Manifesta 11. The collaboration started in November 2015 and the projects will be presented throughout the duration of the biennial.

A city walk with Antonella Barone and Tanja Breu.

Within the Framework of Manifesta 11, we planned a playful city walk named «Spielraum Zürich». In the same way like the Manifesta reclaims the space of the city presenting "joint ventures" at the Satellites, so is our target to discover Zürich and to ‘annex’ it in a new way. We use the artworks created during the collaborations between the artists and the hosts in the Satellites as a tool and inspiration for the creative walk. We want to discover the city in a different way and to contemplate about the relation between body and space. In an active collaboration with the public, are we going to focus our attention on the urban space, opening new perspectives and veiwpoints. We set out focal point on the invisible details, questioning the urban settings. Which requirements does the city impose on us? Which opportunities are offered within the urban space? Our purpose is to create synaesthetic experiences with our mediation project and to inspire the group to change their perspective.

Mittagspause

Lunch at Josefwiese in Zürich, 24 June 2016 © Manifesta 11

„Mittagspause“ is a Pop-up-lunch with the idea of a get-together of people from one area in Zurich. It will take place from 12pm-2pm at the Puls 5 and the Josefwiese, both situated in Kreis 5. The idea is to bring people together that usually do not meet during their lunch time. By offering a long table in a public space, we invite everyone to share their break. It is a platform where everyone can engage in conversations with people from all different kind of fields: business-women, construction workers, artists, daddies, kids, students: anyone who wants to participate is welcome.
Within the Manifesta’s topic "What People do for Money. Some Joint Ventures“, this „Mittagspause“ is asking questions about the time when we are not at work. Do you continue to talk about your work during your lunch? With whom do you spend your lunchbreak? How did the working hours influence your career choice?
We are interested in the phenomenon of the break: an interruption, a moment to reflect and rest, to be alone or to have some time to breathe! Bring your own food, we will provide drinks, fresh fruits and the possibility for meeting a new lunch-friend for your next break. We are looking forward to meeting you in June and July!

Dates
23 and 24, June 2016 at Josefswiese
7 and 8, July at Puls 5
